Believing Christ

During this Easter season, I seem to reflect quite a bit about the whole meaning and what we really celebrate. As a member of
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints we do not wear a cross because we do not celebrate the death of our Savior but rejoice in what he did in the Garden of Gethsemane and his resurrection.
I think sometimes in this crazy world we often feel like we are going at it alone, that we have to take care of everything.  I believe it is the same with the Atonement, we forget how it works.  Sometimes I can hear the Savior say “quit trying to save yourself- Believe in me, know that I am God & have the power to heal you- to save you- to make your sins white as snow”

The word Atonement means- to make one
whole.  Us with the Perfect Savior makes one whole- or makes us whole again, worthy to be with our Father again.  We don’t need to be perfect right now, we can never be perfect by ourselves.  Jesus Christ shares with us his perfection his sinlessness, his merits, his righteousness in the absence of our own.
How grateful I am for this wonderful gift, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son” and He loved us enough to do it for us.  I am so grateful for this knowledge, it has brought so much peace to my life and I am grateful that I do indeed believe Christ.

Happy Easter
