Girls Camp Themes
It’s in the air…. I can smell the fresh air with a hint of camp fire and smores. Have I told you how much I love Girls Camp? Well I do, lol. I was asked by my niece if I had any ideas for girls camp theme, she is laurel president in her ward and she needed to come up with some ideas. I said of course and started blurting out a bunch of ideas. Here are a few girls camp themes with my thoughts behind it.
Iv’e Already Decided– based off of the Jenny Phillips song
What I watch, What I read, What I wear, What I think, Where I’ll go, When I will leave, What I’ll never do
Let the Holy Spirit Guide- My thought behind this girls camp theme is from Sister Dalton, and her saying “if you have the Holy Ghost, if you are worthy of it at all times then no matter where you are you are standing in a holy place” and then also from the hymn
Let the holy spirit guide, let him teach us what is true
Let the holy spirit guard, let his whisper govern choice
Let the Spirit heal our hearts
He will lead us safely home.
Jenny Phillips had a song on last years CD
“Stay” some of the words are “help me live in a way, that thy spirit can stay with me”
Be the Chocolate Chip- based off of a Deseret book-
The chocolate chip became famous because of its ability to Stand firm against the heat of the oven.
Step it Up-
What can we be working on that will help us Stand a little taller, stronger and immovable.
What can we do that will help us “Step Up” or be a little better.
The Right Shoes- based off an idea for New Beininnings from
Jenny Phillips
Check out her web site above for more ideas
Your “Once upon a time” is Now-
Based off of President Uchtdorf talk
found here
Some ideas along the idea of princesses, workshops etc Royalty
How to Make your heart a Holy Place-
Some of my thoughts regarding “our hearts” here
The Lord is hastening his work, now is the time to prepare for his coming. How can we have a change of heart. The more we study the Savior the more we see how much he Loved- how much he loved everyone around him including the soldiers who crucified him. How do we do that?
Go for the Gold-
Cherish virtue. Your personal purity is one of your greatest sources of power
Sister Dalton
We did this last year and it was a great girls camp theme, so fun to play with. Every ward picked a country, had a flag, shirts etc. We had an opening ceremonies, opening games. We had a incredible speaker that had won a gold metal in the Par-Olympics.
Oh the places you’ll Go – or Oh the Places you’ll Stand-
I have seen some New Beginnings done with this theme, and I think it will make for a very fun camp.
Our Stake (in Saint George) is doing this girls camp theme this year and I am really excited to see how it comes together- Every ward has picked out a Dr. Seuss story, our ward has picked out “What was I scared of”
Super cute ideas and Here too I recently found this great site that did it for new beginnings Here– the best part is, her daughter re-did the story in the book to go along with the values- its FABULOUS check it out here– please be sure to stop by the page to see how she did it.
Be not Moved-
This portion of the theme this year really stood out to me from the moment it was announced.
In Sister Dalton’s talk in General Conference “Be Not Moved” she said “you are standing on the edge of many important decisions and making choices daily, some of them difficult, that will shape not only your future but also the destiny of future generations. You too are facing gale force winds of opposition adversity, peer pressure, and moral pollution.” “In the face of these raging storms of society”
“There are no small decisions”
“Be the standard for the world”
So What is your theme this year????

May 23, 2013 at 6:20 pmGREAT ideas! Our theme this year is "Your are the birds you fly with"… more or less it's about friendship – being a good friend, having good friends and having Christ as your Best Friend. If anyone has any ideas for a faith walk that is based around this idea of friendship, I'd love some ideas! Thanks 🙂

May 23, 2013 at 6:25 pmOh my goodness Amy what a cute theme- I love it- I will rack my brain and think, I have done a couple faith walks each being different and I am sure either could be tweaked into just what you want.
Would you want to do a guest blog post for me when your camp is done??? I think your theme is darling and would love that??? what do you think?

May 28, 2013 at 10:01 pmFaith is a verb: Look, Listen, Follow HIM.
Learn, Live, Love, Life Eternal.
You are not Alone, You Always Have a Friend in the Lord.
We are Beautiful Daughters of God Unified by Faith and Prayer.
You are Priceless Let Your Light Shine.
These are all Girls Camp themes that I participated in. As is tradition in my area, the 4th year level girls created them during a special overnight during camp for them alone.

March 28, 2014 at 6:36 amWe did look up, step up, and cheer up. It honestly left one of the most lasting impressions on me. Look up because life is better if we look up (based on that talk about the GA and the prophet telling him to look up), step up because we are here to do our very best. And cheer up because life is great when you are happy and have a great attitude. Happiness is a choice, and if we do that, we can have eternal happiness.
