Ideas for New Beginnings
And the wheels have started to spin 🙂
it’s really fun to see all the ideas that are starting to get
posted to pintrest and different blogs.
I will share some ideas and web sites
AND
I would love if you shared with me some of your ideas
even your blog, if you are a blogger.
Cause you know how it goes
you look at tons of ideas, you are praying for guidance
and you see tons of Great ideas then
Boom
that’s it!
or you mix and match for what your young women need
So here we go
This is a super cute idea
I really love the black and white, cookies & Milk and all her really cute ideas
“There is no place like Home”
This was done for a stake activity days activity, but I really love how bright and beautiful- using all the value colors as well
“I am happy to Bee me”
Same site as above- she really has some cute ideas that can be used, or changed up a bit for New Beginnings.
here are some of the ideas our presidency is thinking about
“All you need is Love”
I think this would be a fun theme, our NB is in February so thought decorating would be way easy and fun. This decorating idea came from here
The thinking behind it is based upon the first and second commandment- Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. and the second is like unto it thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son-
If we can understand the Love that our Heavenly Father has for us and all of his children, if we love him- then everything we do will be based off of that- we Will Stand in Holy Places, and be not moved- we will have no problem staying away from the evils of the world, we will dress more modestly, we will attend our meeting, we will do our personal progress and so forth- that was my thinking behind it.
“My Heart is set on the Temple”
My thoughts behind this is- I can still decorate with red and valentine ish decor and the most holy place on earth is the temple President Monson said “my young friends who are in your teenage years, always have the temple in your sights. Do nothing which will keep you from entering its doors and partaking of the sacred and eternal blessing there. I comment those of you who already go to the temple regularly to perform baptisms for the dead”
“I’m keeping my eyes on the Temple”
“I’m going there someday”
My thoughts on these ideas are the same as the above- I did think it would be cute to make center pieces with pictures of the temple and of the girls.
“Step by Step”
My thoughts behind this is came from a talk by Mary N. Cook called “A Virtuous life- Step by Step” – just as the Salt Lake Temple took 40 years to build, stone by stone, you are building a virtuous life, step by step
“Where do you Stand?”
My thoughts behind this is more thought provoking, where do you stand? would you be comfortable having the Savior beside you? have you made the decision already to walk out of a bad movie?, where do you stand when it comes to personal progress?- it really is an endless topic.
“Oh be Wise”
I saw this as a leadership training from here and have thought it a really cute idea since. In order to stand in holy places you must be wise and make good decisions. Wise in your personal time, wise in what you are watching on TV or listening to on your iPod – lots to go off of.
“I’ve already decided where I stand”
I got this idea from one of the songs on Jenny Phillips cd- I like that it’s already stated the decision was already made. This will go along perfectly the girls reviewing the personal progress program, the logo etc.
We have not yet decided what theme we are going with, but I will let you know 😉
Please share with us what your ward is doing- I still have a Jenny Phillps CD to give away
So let me know what your theme is in a comment and on
January 27th I will pick one- please leave my your email so I can get the cd to you.
It does not hurt to look Here– anything can spark an idea!

January 16, 2013 at 12:31 amI love ALL of these ideas but I think my favorite is the "My heart is set on the temple" one. TOO cute and I love that you could find almost ANYTHING you need with it being Valentine's day around the corner. When are you guys having yours? We've decided to go with the Jenny Phillips program called THE RIGHT SHOES. It goes right along with the mutual thing and we will be tweaking it a little. We'll do everything based around SHOES…decorating, food and we are going to give the girls temple slippers as their favors. xoxo
