Murder Mystery Activity
This Book of Mormon murder mystery dinner was done as a combined activity several years ago and was way fun! It is a real “who done it” were the youth are broken up into groups and try to solve the mystery. The twist at the end is that it is a modern day Book of Mormon murder mystery.

One of the fun things with this Book of Mormon murder mystery is that you can tweak this activity, simplify it or make it as big as you want.
I would for sure caution you as to making sure only those who need to know-know- its based off of a Book of Mormon account. The last portion can be done as a readers theater with the characters dressed up (we used our bishopric etc). I found this idea in 2003 as part of a ywleaders@yahoogroups.com I am not sure who submitted or originally put it all together but I would love to give credit.
One of the things I loved about this Book of Mormon murder mystery activity was of course it being based off of the Book of Mormon, and that it does indeed “liken the scripture unto ourselves”, and it really puts you in the action. I have a strong testimony of the Book of Mormon and know first hand the blessings that come from really learning and studying it. I try hard to have activities that have a purpose, where our youth can have fun, learn but especially feel the spirit. This was one of those incredible activities. Have fun!!!

January 31, 2013 at 5:31 amI would say it could be as long as you want and as short as you want.. if that makes any sense at all. I would say 45-60 min without the dinner, if you wanted to go longer you could add time on with it being acted out towards the end. 🙂 have fun! does that answer your question?
