Snowflake activity

This was a very fun winter Christmas activity! Not only did we get to cut out tons of snowflakes, we got to work on Personal Progress πŸ™‚

Individual Worth #1&7
You could also do Individual Worth #2 and talk about Patriarchal blessings- since each blessing is different and unique.

It was fun to sit, cut and chat about the differences in snowflakes and in each other- we talked about how boring life would be if we were all the same. As we cut, following directions for some specific snowflake, sometimes we would cut to much, thinking we made a huge mistake- just to see how beautiful it ended up being.  It was a great relaxed night with plenty of good conversations.

We decided to have some fun with our snowflakes and share them- we lived in Saint George- and wanted others to have some snow πŸ™‚

Our Poem:

Magic Snowflakes

Snowflakes in the desert, Strange you say
Not so strange when you see it our way

These snowflakes are magic and each is unique
If you can’t tell take a closer peek

Not one Flake is the same as another
Each perfect and special compared to each other

We chose to share our magic with you
We know he thinks your special too

This season remember the love that he bears
Spread that love with the snowflakes we share

After you fold, cut, and unfold
Distribute your own magic, please be bold

Leave your new snowflakes where others can see
That YES it snows near your Christmas tree
(Written by Bethany Price)

Then we would kinda “Heart Attack” someone BUT
with Snowflakes

I found some other poems that are cute & fun and could easily be added.

Snowflakes falling from the sky
Help remind us exactly why
Christmas came so long ago
Cleansing the earth like each new snow
One pure, unique, and perfect form,
Who came to earth to withstand the storm.
Each snowflake melts as does the ice,
But we can’t forget the sacrifice;
So display this symbol of the season
To recollect what gives us reason
One pure, unique and perfect form,
Who came to earth to transcend the storm.

Snowflake Link

Snowflakes, Snowflakes
Falling to the ground.
Each one rest so gently
They never make a sound.
Snowflakes, Snowflakes
Are so pure and white.
The special thing about them is
No two are alike

Each of us a Snowflake
We are each of us a snowflake not two of us the same
Reflections of the endless loving Source from which we came
Unique in form and beauty
Crystallized at birth
Little flecks of heaven born to melt into the earth
We are each of us a snowflake of infinite design
Transitory dancers on the widow panes of time
Unique in form and beauty
No two of us the same
Reflections of the endless loving
Source from which we came
We are each of us a snowflake a falling star in flight
traveler through the universe in search of our own light
Unique in form and beauty
No two of one design
Transitory dancers on the window pane of time.

I really enjoyed this evening because it was just such a relaxed atmosphere were we just talked- about snowflakes and what was going on in their lives.  Then we got to share our love with others πŸ™‚

These poems are beautiful. I've really learned to appreciate how unique, different and special we all are πŸ™‚ I love the "heart" attack game with snowflakes.
