When I ask in Faith
Ask in Faith
New Beginnings & introduction of New Theme
Last night was new beginnings in our ward and it was AMAZING, the spirit was so strong and the girls and leaders did such a wonderful job. I am really excited about the Theme for the youth as well James 1:5-6
Everything starts in Presidency meeting, pondering, prayer and going over the new theme when the impressions start to come- so here is some of our thoughts and how we came up with what we came up with 😊
Our Young Women President- shared with us the song “Ask in Faith” by Hilary Weeks https://www.theredheadedhostess.com/product/ask-faith-song-written-hilary-weeks-mp3-download/ and we all got the chills and fell in love with it. She also felt inspired to have the girls spend some time and think about a question they have or have had, one that they would want to know the answer too, then write it down and turn into us without names on them. Her idea is to address those questions throughout the year as well as include them into our New Beginnings night. As a presidency we talked about how important questions are, and that Joseph Smith started with a question. We feel very strongly that the girls/youth need to know that questions are good, Joseph had a question, where did he go to get answers- where do they go to get answers?
One of our leaders brought up Elder Ballard’s Talk “By Study and by Faith” “Many of our young people are more familiar with Google than with the gospel, more attuned to the Internet than to inspiration, and more involved with Facebook than with faith”
So this started us thinking about focusing on “Questions” or Asking- then where to find the answers. We joked around about creating “the grove” but we did not want the girls to feel like they had to go to a actual grove but spotlight where you can find answers.
Our second presidency meeting opened with a spiritual thought called “Good Timber” quoted by President Monson at General Conference.
